About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of AppealU’s website, account portal and educational appeal preparation services. By creating an account or continuing after an updated version is published, you agree to the current terms. If you do not agree, do not use the account services.
What AppealU provides
AppealU helps students and families organize facts, review the student’s school handbook and procedures, and prepare educational and administrative appeal materials with an assigned Case Specialist. We are not lawyers or a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation or a lawyer-client relationship. Seek qualified legal counsel when legal advice or representation is needed. No appeal outcome is guaranteed; schools make their own decisions.
Accounts and family participation
Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials and telephone PIN secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Report suspected unauthorized access through AppealU support. Family members must have authority to provide the information they submit. Family involvement does not authorize disclosure of school records without any consent or permission required by law or the institution. Separate participants may have separate private conversations.
Your information and evidence
Submit only information and documents you are authorized to share. Do not fabricate evidence, impersonate others, threaten anyone, upload malicious files or use the service unlawfully. You retain your rights in your submitted materials and grant AppealU permission to use them as needed to provide, secure and administer your case. You are responsible for the truthfulness of your facts and final submissions.
Case preparation and school deadlines
Review all prepared materials for accuracy and completeness before using them. AI-assisted drafts and document analysis may contain mistakes or omit information and require human review. You remain responsible for following school procedures, meeting deadlines and submitting your appeal unless a separate written arrangement states otherwise. Tell your Case Specialist promptly about notices, changing circumstances and deadlines.
Fees and payments
Services start at a $300 base case price. Additional services, adjustments and discounts are shown on your individual invoice. Review the scope and amount before approving payment. Substantive work on client-created cases requires a paid invoice; initial review, evidence collection and communication may occur earlier. Any cancellation or refund request is reviewed with reference to the agreed services, work performed and applicable law. These terms do not create an automatic refund entitlement or waive statutory rights.
Prepared documents and permitted use
You may use your prepared appeal letter and Digital Case File for your own appeal. Do not resell other users’ materials, disclose private conversations or copy AppealU branding for misleading purposes. Do not imply that AppealU is your lawyer or that a prepared appeal guarantees success. Institution policies and third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights.
Availability and account restrictions
We may restrict access for security reasons, misuse, violations of these terms or requirements imposed by law. Service availability can be affected by maintenance, third-party services or events outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted access. Contact support for assistance with account restrictions or to request access to your information where permitted.
Responsibility and disputes
AppealU cannot control school decisions or verify every fact you provide. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact AppealU support about service concerns so we can seek a practical resolution. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, select a court or waive rights provided by applicable law.
Updates and contact
Published updates receive a new version and effective date. You must review and acknowledge current Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy before continuing to account services. Earlier versions remain available in our records. For questions or requests, contact AppealU through your account’s Support page.
Keep your own copies of final appeal materials and school submission confirmations.
